This is not a definitive list.  There are other slopes in the planning stages, and others that have already been and gone.  I will up date this page when ever fresh news comes to light.

Background to Indoor Ski-ing

Modern technology now allows for real snow to be made indoors at special venues across the country.  It certainly makes up for the lack of natural snowfall that we get in the UK!!

The runs are not normally as long as the plastic outdoor slopes, but what they lack in length, is certainly made up for just because of the fact that you are ski-ing on snow.   There are only three of these venues at the moment, but more are planned for the UK in coming years.  I will up-date this page as and when new ones are built.

If you decide to visit one of these venues then please don't forget to wrap up warm.   The ski slopes are built inside what is basically a large freezer.  The air temperature to make snow needs to be -3 degrees Celsius MAXIMUM.  You can expect it to be colder than this.  Add to this the wind chill factor experienced whilst ski-ing at around 25 to 30 mph and it can feel like -15 to -20 degrees Celsius!!!
