Good Points
|
 | Because of the quantity of slopes available, progression is made nice and easy. |
 | Loads of good quality equipment to hire. |
 | The Dual Height Ramp on the Intermediate Slope. |
|
Bad Points
|
 | If you want to get to the Intermediate Slope, you have to walk up loads of steps to get
there!! |
 | The Dendix on the main slope is getting somewhat worn, and could do with replacing in
certain parts. |
|
Improvements
|
 | Resurface the main and intermediate slopes in the newer SnowFlex, but this would cost a
fortune!! |

We have skied at Ski Rossendale a lot of times and like it very much, even
though the main slope is made from Dendix!! The main slope is long and wide which
therefore gives you loads of room to miss others on the slope (especially the
lessons!!). Give Ski Rossendale a try!! |

I have skied at Ski Rossendale many times, and it never gets boring.
The main slope is massive and helped me to get the hang of the sport before going to
Austria. In my eyes it is a very good place to go ski-ing. I shall be
returning very soon. |

We have just been again to Ski Rossendale, after not going for many
months, and we were still impressed at the venue. The main slope is very long and
very wide. It is probably the best Dendix ski slope in this country. |

I work part time as a Snowboard Instructor at this slope. Whilst the
slopes are great for those who are new to ski-ing, the Snowboard scene at this place has
been ruined by people suing the slope for injuries that are really their own fault.
As a result of this, the insurance company will no longer provide cover for unfixed
obstacles. The slope have installed a couple of fixed kickers in response to this,
but the landing is horrendous. It is as flat as a pancake and as a victim of a flat
landing (and cartilage tear to my right knee!!) a couple of years ago, I would rather ride
ramps and stuff at Halifax. Ski Rossendale could be a great place for boarders, but
as the local council (who own and run the slope) are not prepared to invest in it, it is
seriously under utilising its full potential, and the more advanced skiers and boarders
just go elsewhere. |

**COMING SOON** - The intermediate slope at Ski Rossendale is being ripped
up and re-laid and sculptured in SnowFlex!! The ramps will be modernised with a
safer landing area (like Halifax) and further improvements to the shape of the slope.
WEHAY!!! |
| Andrew Jacobs - 21/04/2003 |
I have been skiing here for the past 5 years and like the set up of the
place. The main problem is the state of the main slope. I have written to the
council explaining that the surface needs renewing. The council actually wrote back
and said that when funds are available, but no time scale was put on this. To those
who go before it is completed, the left hand side with the rollers on is better that the
other side. |
