Hi There. My daughter and I went here for the first time
yesterday. We had a brilliant time. We had a private lesson and were the only
people there!! It only cost £10 for the first person and £6 for any more, up to 5
people. The man who gave us the lesson made it really fun and we had a brilliant
lesson. The boots were more comfortable than the ones we tried at another place the
other week. After the lesson, he let us try out some plastic sledges, which were
absolutely fantastic. We both really enjoyed ourselves and we could not believe it
was so quiet. He also let us try out the lift on the steeper slope, and the skied
down backwards in front of us to help us down the steep slope. What a great
guy!! It really needs someone to take over an market it better, and tidy the place
up a bit, but we both loved it and we have booked again for next week. Catterick Is
Great!! |

SLOPE UPDATE - I have been trying to contact the
dry ski slope for ages now, and I get no response on the telephone. I have contacted
the local Tourist Information Office, and they have confirmed that this place has now
closed again. Seems a shame as it sounded to be a pretty good place to learn to
ski!! |

I too went to Catterick Ski Slope last year, and as a mere beginner, I
found it fantastic. The staff were friendly and patient, and gave you hints and tips
along the way. We were there for just a few hours, and enjoyed it loads. There
was a big group of us and everyone had a go at something; Ski-ing, Sledging &
Snowboarding. What a shame it has closed!! |

Its a shame that Catterick has closed.... I learned to ski there
about 30 years ago whilst at school in Hipswell and was hoping to have a reunion in
August, with a visit there. |
