Comments About Bassingbourn Ski Centre

S M Boreham - 01/07/2001 I have been to this slope and it's based in an Army Barracks, so you have to check in with an officer at the gate!!  It was probably 4 years ago when I last visited and there was a horrible rope to drag you up the limited slope, and it nearly pulls your arms out of your sockets!!  I knew a family who taught their children to ski here before going on holiday, but I have not been back!!
David Brunton 03/09/2002 The above information was supplied by David Brunton a Snowboard Instructor At Bassingbourn
Andrew Upton - 30/09/2002 My family all learnt to ski here and found the quality of teach to be excellent.   It is a non-commercial slope, and is run by the club members, so it may not appear to be as big as some venues around the country.  Pound for pound, it is probably the best value at any ski slope in the country, and never over crowded.  Well worth the money.
Gary Atkins - 15/12/2002 I skied at Bassingbourn when I was a Royal Fusilier. (trumpet player) in the early 80's. My family emigrated to Canada in the early 70's so I learned to ski in the Rocky Mountains. Having never seen a 'dry hill' before it was a bit of a novelty - the ground has no 'give' like real snow. It was a much appreciated distraction from the daily grind even if it is (was) more like roller-skating than skiing. As write this, I am in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. It's minus 12 (Celsius) and snowing. The mountains look great. Learn to ski anywhere that you can!
